Apparatus for combining liquid, solid and/ or gaseous fluid streams comprises a body 21 having convex upper and lower surfaces, a leading edge 39 and trailing edge 33 and an aperture the downstream side of which forms a second leading edge 35; the body is situated in a fluid stream and other fluids may be fed to the aperture by inlets 36, 37 and to the interior of the body by inlets 30, 31 whence they are ejected through a rectangular slot 34 in the trailing edge 33. The body is of streamline shape and as shown, the aperture extends through it from the upper to the under face, both faces being symmetrically curved. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown) the body including the aperture is divided by a plane partition parallel to the trailing edge, eight instead of four fluid inlets being provided and the outlet slot being duplicated; the curvature of upper and under surfaces may then be unequal. The body may be situated outside, or partly (as shown) or wholly within, the mouth 41 of a conduit 40 for conveying fluid. Alternatively it may be mounted on an aircraft or the tip of a helicopter rotor. Applications include the spraying of glass fibres and epoxy resins upon a form or into a mould, the treatment of seeds or grain, the mixture of water with an emulsifying agent and insecticide, and the treatment of boiler feed water.
