Abstract

1,116,661. Ventilators. COLT VENTILATION & HEATING Ltd. 14 June, 1965 [16 June, 1964], No. 24939/64. Heading F4V. A powered roof ventilator is provided with. a peripheral anti-entrainment flange 13 at the upper end of its discharge trunking 11 and a shallow dished shield 28 covering the flange 13, the resultant discharge opening 36 being downwardly directed. The flange 13 is carried by a non-return shutter assembly 14. The shield 28 has a portion 32 at one side of the ventilator parallel to the trunking, and at this side the flange 13 is narrower than on the other three sides. The wall portion 32 is hinged at 26 to arms 24 whose other ends carry a rod 38 engaged by a spring catch 39 mounted on the shield 28. Stay rods 50 are provided to retain the shield in its open position when required. A splash guard 40 is provided at the narrow portion of the flange 13.
