Abstract
1,115,913. Electrophotography. ING. C. OLIVETTI & C. S.p.A. 29 June, 1965 [1 July, 1964], No. 27418/65. Heading H1K. [Also in Division G2] An electrophotographic element comprises a paper substrate having on one side a photoconductive layer comprising a polymeric binder having dispersed therein a photoconductor and wherein the paper has a resistivity of 10<SP>10</SP> to 5À10<SP>11</SP> ohm. cm. at 15% relative humidity and 70‹ F. The preferred photoconductor is ZnO while the binder may be a hydrocarbon resin, styrene-butadiene copolymer, an acrylic resin or indene-styreneacrylonitrile terpolymer. Plasticizers may be added to the binder to give low conductivity in the coating whilst thioflavine, auramine 0, bromophenol blue and rose bengal may be added as sensitizers.
