Abstract

A safety razor having the general shape of an ordinary razor carries a thin doubleedged blade 5, which has holes engaging with four pins 4 on a toothed guard-plate 3 and is adapted to be secured in place by a hinged cover-plate 6 locked in its closed position by a spring catch &c. 8. When it is desired to strop the blade 5, it is arranged to engage with only two of the pins 4, so that it projects from the guard-plate 3, as shown in Fig. 3. The guard-plate 3 and cover-plate 6 are either flat or curved in cross-section, and are grooved longitudinally as shown in Fig. 3.
