Abstract
Fungal infections on fruit trees and bushes are controlled by treating the fruit trees and bushes and the soil area surrounding them, after harvesting the fruit and preferably before leaf-fall, with tetrachloro-o-cresol or a salt thereof or a composition containing the same. Specified salts are those formed with metals (e.g. Li, Na, Cu, K or Ca), ammonia or alkylamines. The active compounds may be formulated into compositions including wetting agents, solid diluents, organic solvents and organic solvents. The compositions may be in the form of solutions, suspensions, dusts, wettable powders and dispersions. Other fungicides may be present, e.g. sulphur, cuprous oxide, copper oxychloride, nickel hydroxide or tetramethyl thiuram disulphide. The compositions may contain anionic, non-ionic or cationic surface active agents, stickers and antiflocculants. Specification 1,036,593 is referred to.
