Abstract
111,455. Evered &. Co., and Evered, S. Aug 31, 1917. Handles .-Lifts or handles for sliding doors, shutters, &c., are made in two parts, each stamped from sheet metal, one part being screwed about the usual aperture in the door, &c., while the other acts as a lining therefor. In forming the first part, a rectangular sheet metal blank a, Fig. 5, is provided with slits b, c and the tongues a' so formed are pressed inwards as shown in Fig. 8. For forming the lining, a blank e, Fig. 6, is pressed into the form shown in Figs, 9 and 10, and the curved edges of the part e are passed over the tongues a' of the part a, the bent parts e<2> of the ears e<1> taking against the rear face of the part a. The whole is then applied to the aperture in the sash and secured by screws &c. Fig. 3 is a section through the lower bar of a window sash with the lift or handle applied thereto.
