Limbs, artificial.-A hook C for attachment to a hand is provided with a transverse joint D between the shank of the hook and a stem M which carries a nut Q acting as abutment for a spring N. The other abutment for the spring is provided by a shoulder upon a screwed plug K taking into a casing or holder H of a wrist-block G contained within a sheath A. In the form shown, any movement of the hook about the transverse joint will slightly withdraw the stem, but this may be obviated by rounding the abutting sur. faces of the boot and the rim R of the plug, or by spacing them apart.
