Abstract

111,370. Corn, E. R., and Johns & Co., E. Dec. 27, 1916. Lift valves; casings; materials, special.-The taps of earthenware vessels such as lavatory basins, sinks, bidets, and baths have the handle and upstanding casing parts formed wholly of or enclosed in earthenware to facilitate cleaning. The metal interior fitting, comprising a sleeve t, a screw-down valve u, and a bush v, is enclosed within the upstanding portion of the earthenware article, as shown, which is formed with an integral discharge spout c. The earthenware handle d<3> is formed with a depending flange or cup d<4> which turns and slides over the cylindrical earthenware parts c' of the casing. The handle is mounted on the valve stem by a socket connexion and secured by screws, as shown.
