Abstract

1,113,680. Reciprocating pumps. J.A. BRIGHTWELL. April 6, 1967 [April 28, 1966], No.18666/66. Heading F1A. A dispensing pump for cream or liquid comprises a casing 1 receiving a replaceable can 2 of cream or liquid and a bucket pump 3 mounted in casing 1 to depend into can 2, a follower 5 with a flexible skirt 6 being slidable on pump cylinder 4 and the pump plunger 12 being moved downwardly against a spring 11 to dispense a shot of cream or liquid into the palm of the hand of a user, the back of the hand being used to depress a hinged plate 24 engaging plunger head 10. The fingers pivot against a fixed plate 23 and the cream or liquid is discharged through a nozzle 20. The pump incorporates a bucket valve 13 and a foot valve 17. The can 2 is replaced by releasing a recessed bolt 31 with a suitable tool to open closure 29, and swinging a support link 26, 27 to one side, the link carrying the nut 28 engageable by bolt 31.
