Abstract

1,112,491. Vehicle washing apparatus. R. E. COX. 5 April, 1967 [7 Jan., 1966], No. 792/66. Heading B7J. An overhead guide 12 slidably supports a carriage 10 mounting pivot arms 13a and a rotatable brush 14, which arms and brush may be raised by a winch 16 and cable 17 as a vehicle progresses from left to right through the apparatus. The frame 13 may be counterweighted and lowered as in Fig. 4 (not shown to clean the rear of the vehicle which may be stopped at this point, and the carriage 10 may then be retracted by the winch 19 or by hand ready for another vehicle. Further motor driven brushes may be fixedly or pivotably mounted on the carriage to clean the sides of the vehicle and cleaning fluid may be directed on to the vehicle near the further brushes.
