Abstract

1,112,091. Endless conveyer frameworks. STEPHENS BELTING CO. Ltd. 20 March, 1967 [19 April, 1966], No. 17045/66. Heading B8A. A conveyer comprises an endless belt 20, and a pair of tubular side members 11, each including two portions 11a 11b connected by a junction member 12 permitting separation of the portions with the belt in place, by relative angular movement between the portions to reduce the distance between end rollers 15 supporting the belt. Each junction member 12 is at one end received inside and bolted at 13 to one tubular portion 11a and a quarter circular section formed at the other end is received, either with or without bolting, in the other portion 11b. The portions 11a, 11b of each side member are supported in use on a framework 21, 22 which prevents the said angular movement. Bearing members 17 spherically mounting spindles 16 of the rollers 15, are slidably received in the side members 11 and abut against cams 19 therein, by which belt tension is adjustable. At least one roller 15 is driven via a detachable flexible drive. The two side members are coupled by spacers 14.
