Abstract
1,111,900. Cutting by fusion. H. R. MORGAN. 3 Nov., 1966, No. 49322/66. Addition to 1,013,738. Heading B3V. In a flame-cutting machine according to Specification 1,013,738 the cutting torch 2 is mounted in holder 3 composed of relatively movable parts 3B, 3E which are moved during the swivelling motion of the torch so as to urge it further away from the workpiece as it approaches the acute angle position, Fig. 11 (not shown). The holder 3 is adjustably clamped to a boss 7E of member 7 adapted to swivel about a pin 3A carried by a linear moving part 5 of the machine. Member 7 has a channel 7C engaging a roller 8 mounted on a fixed support 9A. Part 3E of the holder 3 is mounted to pivot about a pin 3D and carries a roller 3F biased by spring 3J against a cam 5A on the part 5. In another embodiment, Figs. 6, 7 (not shown), the cam and roller are replaced by a link (3M). In further embodiments, Figs. 12-15 (not shown), a part (3U), (3Z) of the holder which carries the torch has linear movement towards and from the workpiece.
