Abstract

1,111,348. Trueing grinding wheels. GROSSDREHMASCHINENBAU " 7 OKTOBER " VEB. 17 March, 1966, No. 11756/66. Heading B3D. A grinding wheel 20 used for grinding gear teeth is dressed by a pair of diamond tools 18, each being mounted on a lever 7 provided with a swivelling shaft 8 and an additional shaft 10 the axis of which intersects the axis of the swivelling shaft at right-angles and extends parallel to the tangent to the movement path of the tool, the lever being supported against a housing 3 in the axial direction of the tool by cam surfaces co-operating with followers 22, 23, 26 secured to either the housing or lever. Each housing 3 is mounted for angular adjustment about a bearing 6 on a guide plate 2. The machine drive is connected to a pin 82 of a block 81 mounted in a slot 9 in the lever for rotating the lever in the direction of arrow 16. The lever is drawn against the housing by a spring 13 and can swivel about a pin 10 under the influence of the cam surfaces. Either the followers 22 and 23 or the followers 22 and 26 may function together depending on what form of gear tooth the grinding wheel is for. The follower 22 is arranged to co-operate with a cam (21), Fig. 6 (not shown) having a plane cam surface (212) parallel to the shaft 10 and a sloping cam surface (211). The follower 23 is secured to the rear end of the lever and cooperates with a cam surface (24), Fig. 4 (not shown) which extends parallel to the shaft 10 and is formed by a flattened bolt (25) passing through the housing (3). The follower 26 is arranged to co-operate with a pair of cones (27), (28), Fig. 5 (not shown), which can be brought into operation by knurled adjustment screws (32), (33), (292), (301).
