Abstract

111,090. Gordon, G. C. Nov. 1, 1916, [Convention date]. Crank-shafts --A steel crank-shaft is forged from a bent bar between dies, one of which 20 is shown in Fig. 1, with suitable lugs 12 for the attachment of balance weights. The balance weights may be attached by electric welding. Fig. 3 shows a four-throw crank-shaft with two weights 33 so attached by butt joints and with a third lug 12 for the attachment of another weight. A suitable electrical welding-arrangement is described.
