Abstract
A PVC composition contains the following ingredients in the proportions by weight indicated: pure PVC suspension polymer, 100; "Reoplex 100" (Registered Trade Mark); polymeric plasticizer, 50; dioctyl tin stabilizer, 1.5; wax lubricant, 0.5. The composition is used to form the nozzle and body of a collapsible tube.ALSO:A nozzle for applying eye ointment is welded to one end of a collapsible tube, both nozzle and tube being formed of a P.V.C. composition containing a plasticiser of a polymeric non-extractable type and a stabiliser which is an organo-tin compound based on a dioctyl tin complex. The nozzle bore may be parallel-sided or tapered towards the outer end. A protective cover is screwed on to an inner end piece of the nozzle. Dimensions of one form of nozzle are disclosed. Eye ointment. The ointment may contain any one of the following: yellow mercuric oxide 1%; boric acid 1%; atrophine sulphate 1%; hydrocortisone acetate 2.5%; or sulphacetamide 6%.
