Abstract

110,707. Schulstad, P. L. V. May 15, 1917. Measuring.-In apparatus for measuring and marking machine belts &c. and of the kind comprising a marking-disk connected with a counting- device, the disk 2, Fig. 2, is revolubly mounted on an axle 1, which may be movable towards and from the belt under the action of a spring or counterweight, and the markers 3 have the shape of teeth or knives and are arranged so that there is at least one marker always in contact with the belt, which is moved forward between the disk and an underlay. The counting-device 11 is carried by a shaft 10, which is mounted at one end in the disk 2 and at the other end in an arm 5 projecting from the nave 4 of the disk. During the revolution of the disk 2, the cogwheel 12 of the unit counting-disk engages a pin 16 on a stationary arm 15. The numbers of the counting-disks 11 are disposed on knife or tooth shaped projections so as to mark the belt on each revolution of the disk 2. In a modification, Fig. 3, the markers 3 are disposed on a flange 17, and an eccentric 18 on the nave 4 of the disk 2 operates a spring-pressed rod 21, which actuates the counting-device 26 carried by a stationary forkshaped frame 20. The shaft 25 of the device 26 is guided in grooves 27 in the frame 20. Means may be provided for inking or heating the marking teeth.
