Abstract
1,106,605. Shearing. MASCHINENFABRIK SACK G.m.b.H. 5 Jan., 1966 [8 Jan., 1965], No. 533/66. Heading B3W. A shearing machine for trimming metal sheets has a stationary lower blade 2 and a reciprocating upper blade 3 which is guided in an intermediate slide 5 to move in or parallel to the cutting plane, the intermediate slide being guided to move in a direction inclined to the cutting plane, the upper blade is connected to an arm 8 which is oscillated by an eccentric 11 and the intermediate slide is connected to an arm 14 which is oscillated by a cam 15. A holddown 16 is mounted on the intermediate slide. The profile of the cam 15 and its angular position relative to the eccentric 11 is such that at the bottom of the cutting stroke of the blade 3 the intermediate slide is raised which moves the blade transversely away from the freshly cut edge of the sheet and the slide then remains stationary during the return stroke of the blade. At the top of the strpke of the blade the slide is moved downwards to bring the cutting edge of the blade back into the cutting plane for the next cutting stroke. The blade may alternatively be actuated directly or indirectly by hydraulic or electrical drive means.
