Abstract

1,106,493. Crates. RYDER WIREWORKS Ltd., and R. RYDER. 21 Dec., 1965 [5 Nov., 1964], No. 45074/64. Headings B8D and B8P. A protective crate 10 of criss-crossed welded wires 11, 12, for a flexible plastics bottle 14, has a wire hoop 15 of reduced diameter across its open upper end through which the bottle can be squeezed when empty, filling the bottle making it relatively inflexible so that it cannot slide past the hoop 15 out of the crate. The plastics bottle 14 may also be held in the crate 10 by wire clips hooked across its upper end. Part of the top ring 11a of the crate is cut away, together with the adjacent section of the retaining hoop 15, to accommodate a spout on the bottle 14. The bottom of the crate is reinforced by a metal hoop 16. The crate 10 may be coated with polythene.
