Abstract

[Also in Division H1] A magnetic contact assembly comprises a sealed magnetic reed contact unit which is placed in non-magnetic tube, preferably of brass, and plastic is moulded around the tube in a relatively small mould before further plastic is moulded around the first -moulding in a relatively larger mould. Fixing bosses 7, 8 are formed in the first moulding operation and these project at 9, 10 from the final moulding. The plastic may be nylon, epoxy resin or polypropylene. Before the moulding operations are carried out, one external reed end is connected to the brass tube and a lead 6 is connected to the other end of the tube whilst a lead 5 is connected to the other reed.
