Abstract
1,104,546. Ejecting packages from aircraft. WEBCOR Inc. 1 March, 1965, No. 8730/65. Heading F3C. An automatic ejector for rapidly ejecting packages from a vehicle comprises a housing 12 containing a plurality of packages 18 biased towards a surface 33 by a follower 64 through a cable 66 and a plunger 36 loaded by a spring 34. The lowermost package is ejected through an opening 22 by valve means 78 comprising a piston (112), Fig. 6 (not shown), which on admission of gas pressure into the valve means 78 by actuation of valve 144 moves forwardly to project through opening 30 and engage the lowermost package to initially move it. After a certain movement piston (112) will move away from spring-loaded plug (108) to permit gas pressure to pass through bore (128) of the piston and act on the lowermost package to finally eject it. Gas pressure also acts on the plunger 36 to bias it upwardly and permit the follower 64 to lever the packages towards the surface 33.
