Abstract

1,104,130. Ink-ribbon mechanism. ANKERWERKE A.G. 22 April, 1966 [26 April, 1965], No. 17766/66. Heading B6F. A separate multi-coloured inkribbon and ink-ribbon mechanism is provided so that top and underneath copies are printed in the colour required. The embodiment described is for an accounting machine printing on a voucher through an ink-ribbon 1 and on a tally strip 26 through an ink - ribbon 28. The mechanism for the ribbon 28 is mounted on a pivotal frame 24 so it can be shifted away from operative position. When in operative position it is locked so that a colour shift action effects both ink-ribbons. When recording, say, in black a cam 10 rotates, which operates a follower lever 9, a link 8, a double lever 5 whereupon arms 2 are moved forwardly and upwardly due to resting levers 11 so that the upper half (black) of the ink-ribbon 1 is at the printing line. No movement is transmitted to the levers 30a by a rotation of cam 10 so the ribbon 28 remains with its lower (black) area at the printing position. When a printing is required in red a lever (16), Fig. 2, is operated and by means of a control slide (15) and lever (14) a shaft 18, Fig. 1, is rotated clockwise which causes the levers 30a to pivot the ribbon 28 downwardly so its upper (red) area is moved into printing position. At the same time lever 19 on the shaft 18 lifts the ribbon 1 so its lower (red) area is also moved to the printing position.
