Abstract
1,103,444. Continuous casting process. MANNESMANN A.G. 16 Feb., 1965 [20 Feb., 1964], No. 6709/65. Heading B3F. In a curved strand continuous casting process the end of the liquid core is normally situated in the horizontal run, and the lowering velocity is reduced shortly before the termination of the casting process so that the liquid core tip is displaced backwardly to a point above the horizontal run, to prevent run-out of molten metal from the strand head at the end of the casting.
