Abstract

A dewatering foil for the wet section of a paper-making machine has the wire-contacting portions, or at least those liable to undergo sever wear, composed of a hard ceramic sintered material (see Specification 1,103,278) and divided into section across the width of the wire. The sections are secured to supporting means by adhesive-for example an epoxy resin -, and/or by clamping means or screws as in Specifications 1,103,251 and application 5433/65 respectively. There may be an intermediate layer as in Specification 1,103,251.
