Abstract

1,102,782. Automatic circuit breakers; resistors. DORMAN & SMITH Ltd. 10 Jan., 1966 [4 Feb., 1965], No. 4808/65. Headings HlN and HIS. A resistor, for connection in series with a thermal overload responsive circuit-breaker to limit the maximum fault current as described in Specification 968,153, is constructed so as to thermally insulate the resistance element 11 1 from the bimetal of the circuit breaker. The resistor comprises a folded strip of metal riveted to a thermally insulating plate 10, e.g. of resinbonded glass-fibre, by hollow rivets 17, 19 through one of which passes a screw 28 securing the resistor to one terminal of the breaker with the plate 10 between the strip and the terminal 26. The other rivet 18 is threaded and receives a screw terminal 20.
