[Also in Division E1] A turnbuckle mechanism for connecting partition panels to studs comprises a threaded rod 36 with a square-sectioned central portion (Fig. 4, not shown) and threaded aluminium end couplings 40, rectangular in elevation attached to the studs 1 and prevented from rotating by heads 37 engaged in T-sectioned vertical channels in the studs. An alternative mechanism for tightening the construction comprises a lever 63 (Fig. 9) arranged in a channel 59 fixed to the stud 1 via a T-sectioned rib 69, the lever acting against a head 65 on the rod 36, and being rotated by a bolt 67.
