1398562 Reinforced concrete beams R TAYLOR 10 July 1973 [9 Aug 1972] 37060/72 Heading E1W A reinforced concrete beam has its soffit formed by a standard hot rolled structural steel channel 1 which has a shear connection to the concrete of the beam formed by a transverse bolt 5 passing through holes in the flanges of the channel. The bolt may take the form of a hexagonal headed screw bolt clamped across the channel by an engaging nut. Alternatively, a simple round bar may be used. Patent Specification 1334750 is referred to.
