1,102,125. Electric irons. MORPHYBICHARDS Ltd. 19 Feb., 1965 [24 Feb., 1964; 25 April, 1964], Nos. 7522/64 and 17250/64. Heading H5H. A heating element for an electric iron comprises a single layer heating resistor 20 bonded to (or embedded in Fig. 2, not shown), a film of epoxy or silicone resin 22, and sandwiched between sheets 21, 23 of micaceous material which are bonded thereto to exclude air from the resistor and resin film. The resistor may be a printed circuit. Sheets of aluminium 26, 27, or other relatively soft heat conductor which will partially conform to surface irregularities, may be used to transmit heat to a cast iron sole and coverplate.
