Abstract

1,102,022. Hand driven rotary cranks. TESLA, NARODNI PODNIK. 17 March, 1965 [3 April, 1964], No. 11288/65. Heading B7E. [Also in Divisions E2 and H3] The motion of a tuning knob 6 is stopped and locked by a mechanism included within the knob. Stopping is provided by eccentrically mounted gearing 4 which engages within slots on a stator 5 connected to the knob 6 and the locking mechanism consists of a spring 1 also connected to the knob such that a wedge 31 can be inserted into the spring to expand it against the walls of a braking case 2 rigidly connected to a panel 9, when the lever 3 is pivoted about 33 in the position shown. Release of the locking means occurs when the lever 3 is pivoted out from the knob (Fig. 9, not shown), where it provides a handle for rapid rotation of the knob. The stopping mechanism consists of two gear wheels (41, 45, Fig. 3, not shown), connected together and arranged to rotate about the braking case 2 so that when a tooth 42 on the top wheel (45) engages the solid wall of the stator 5, rotation of the knob is stopped; this corresponds to one of the end stop positions.
