Abstract

1,101,917. Stripping insulation. T. P. EVANS, and A. H. DYER. 18 March, 1965 [25 Nov., 1964], Nos. 47872/64 and 47873/64. Heading H2C. The device shown is for stripping the sheathing from mineral insulated cables. A gland nut 3 can be held by a set-screw 5 in aperture 2, the gland then providing support for the cable 4 to be stripped. A slotted screw-adjusted knife 7 engages the insulation near the end of the gland and rotation and downward movement of the tool cuts the insulation helically. A recess 9 is provided which enables the tool to be used as a pot wrench.
