Abstract

1,101,743. Gas scrubber. W. C. HOLMES & CO. Ltd. 24 Feb., 1965 [12 March, 1964], No. 10435/64. Heading B1R. Gas to be scrubbed enters at 14 and passes downwardly through a venturi-shaped zone 10 to impinge on a baffle 28 and then pass upwardly through an annular packed zone 16 irrigated with liquid introduced at 26 to an outlet 20. Preferably liquid is introduced at 24 into the zone 10 and the inlet 14 is tangentially arranged with respect to a chamber 12 above the convergent section of the venturi-shaped zone.
