Abstract

1,100,393. Photographic cameras. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Feb. 11, 1965 [Feb. 13, 1964], No. 5970/65. Heading G2A. A photographic camera has a built-in flash device having a reflector 10 mounted on a pivot 10a and held in an inoperative position by a latch member 16 engaging a hole 17 in the reflector, and is characterized in that the latch member 16 cannot be operated until the shutter has been set to a predetermined speed suitable for a flash exposure. The latch is pivoted at 15 and is operated by a lever 12 attached to a finger piece 9 movement of which is blocked by a part 7 engaging a projection 8 on the lever 12. The part 7 is attached to a lever 4 pivoted at 5 and having a pin 3 riding on the shutter setting ring 1 which has a notch 2 associated with the predetermined shutter speed. When the pin 3 enters the notch 2, the lever 4 pivots to bring the part 7 opposite a recess 11 so that the lever 12 can be moved. In embodiments the shutter speed cannot be reset until the reflector has been moved to the inoperative position.
