Abstract

898,193. Photographic camera shutter releases. KODAK Ltd. Dec. 12, 1960 [Dec. 12, 1959], No. 42662/60. Class 98(1). A photographic camera comprises a manually operable shutter release member 2, urged by spring 3 into an inoperative position, an intermediate member 4 which, upon actuation of the member 2, actuates a member 7 of a shutter release mechanism to release the shutter, and a locking member 9 which is normally held by a spring 10 in a position in which it is disposed in the path of movement of the member 4 but on actuation of member 2 is moved, by means of member 2 engaging edge 9b and pivoting the lever 9 about a pivot 5, to a position in which it is displaced from the path of movement of the member 4. If the camera is jolted and lever 4 is thereby displaced, it is prevented from moving far enough to operate lever 7 by an arm 9a on lever 9 entering a recess 4e.
