Abstract

1,100,319. Yielding clutch plates. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. 15 Nov., 1965 [18 Nov., 1964], No. 48406/65. Heading F2U. A clutch plate 10 is connected to its hub 12 by annuli 13, 14, or circumferentially-spaced sectors, of soft rubber adhesively bonded at their side faces to the plate 10 and to casing parts 15, 16 fast with the hub, damping means additional to the rubber being provided by spring-loaded friction members 20, 21, the latter also centrifugally loaded, or by a viscous liquid damper (not described). Cooling air passages 17 are provided in the rubber annuli, or between adjacent ends of the sectors, the casing parts having pressed radial ribs at these latter points. The rubber may fill the radial space between the hub and the friction facings of the plate 10.
