Abstract

1,099,633. Posts; clamps. D. DESKEY and A. LURK-IS. Feb. 15, 1965 [Feb. 17, 1964], No. 6482/65. Headings E1B and E2B. A street lamp or other standard comprises one or more hollow arms 23 of circular or other section seated in and clamped against a mating concave section on a hollow column 22 supported by a hollow base 21. The column may have a cross section as shown in Fig. 10, or alternatively may have any of the sections in Figs. 12-18 (not shown). The arm 23 is secured against the column 22 by spaced bolts (46), (49), Fig. 3-6 (not shown) engaging inserts (45), (47) seated respectively in the lower end of the arm and the upper end of the column. A box 25 is clamped against a convex section of the column 22 by screwactuated jaws, Fig. 8 (not shown). The lower (transformer) section of the base 21 has a removable door 34, Fig. 7 (not shown) retained by a screw-actuated locking plate (39). A sign (71), Fig. 11 (not shown) or a flag pole may be attached to the top of the column 22.
