Abstract
Solutions containing salts with negative solubility coefficients are concentrated without evaporation by heating the solution to between 50 DEG and 100 DEG C. and separating the mother liquor from the crystal suspension which is removed. The mother liquor is then heated in one or more stages at successively higher temperatures up to 240 DEG C. and under pressures from 1 to 35 atmospheres to prevent boiling, the crystal suspension being removed from each step by known methods and recycled to the first step from where it is removed, the salt being anhydrous or in the form of a low hydrate. Salt with positive and negative solubility coefficient may be separated, the salt with positive solubility coefficient remaining in solution. Salts referred to are FeSO4, MnSO4 and TiOSO4.
