In a photographic reproducing apparatus having an image of an original on a carrier 2 formed on photo-sensitive material 5 on a carrier 3 by an inclined mirror 6, the image is focused by an objective 8 mounted so as to move laterally between the position for maximum reduction III and an intermediate position II, and thence the objective is rotatable through 90‹ to the position I of maximum enlargement. In the position III the carrier 2 is in its lowest position and the carrier 3 is as far to the left as possible, and in the position I the carrier 3 is moved to the right by a bellows 21 arranged in light tight connection with a tunnel 22 in which the objective is laterally movable, the carrier 2 being in its highest position. The mirror 6 may be pivoted out of the way of the objective while it is turning between positions II and I. The apparatus is provided with a scale (29) Fig. 6 (not shown) of reduction or enlargement ratios, which scale is visible to an observer (30) so that he has only to position the carrier 3 in accordance with the desired scale of reproduction, and then displace the carrier 2 and objective 8 until he obtains a clear image of the original on a ground glass screen provisionally mounted in place of the photo-sensitive material 5.
