Abstract

1,097,849. Radiant burners. CALORIC INTERNATIONAL Inc. Nov. 16, 1966, No. 51285/66. Heading F4T. A radiant gas burner comprises a Venturi 12 supplying a fuel mixture to a burner head 10 provided with an opening 16 surrounded by a rim 18, corrugated screens 20, 22 overlying the opening and resting on the rim, an asbestos spacer 28 resting on the periphery of the screen 22, an outer screen 30 resting on the spacer defining a combustion space with screen 22, a clamping frame 32 belted to head 10, and a frame 42 spaced from frame 32 by ferrules 50 which is bolted to the head and has a depending flange 44 to enclose the edges of the burner, there being an opening 56 in screen 30 to ignite the gas.
