Abstract

A bath for the electroless deposition of copper comprises cupric ions, e.g. copper sulphate, hydroxyl radicals, formaldehyde, and a complexing agent comprising a substituted triamine of the formula:- <FORM:1097848/C6-C7/1> wherein at least three of the R radicals are -(CH2)3OH and no more than two are -(CH2)2OH, CH3COOH, C2H5-COOH or inert organic radicals, at least 0.15 mols of the triamine being present per mol of copper ions. The bath may also contain sodium tartrate, delta gluconolactone, sodium salicylate or E.D.T.A.
