A package for an elongated article 1 provided with one portion thicker than the rest e.g. a chisel, includes a base panel 2 provided with a hole 7 and with at least two slots 15, 16 through which the article may be threaded to snap the thicker portion into the hole 7. The package may be formed from the blank shown in Fig. 2, where flaps 9, 11 are secured to the back of reinforcing panel 3 and a flap 10 is secured between the panels 2 and 3.
