Abstract

1,097,761. Strain gauges. BRITISH AIRCRAFT CORPORATION (OPERATING) Ltd. Feb. 12, 1965 [Nov. 14, 1963], No.45050/66. Heading G1N. A resistance wire strain gauge for use on a surface whose temperature may be rapidly varying, is mounted on a base together with two thermocouples connected back to back, with one on each side of the base, so that the temperature difference between the test surface and the strain gauge can be ascertained. The strain gauge is preferably printed, using a cupro nickel alloy ink, on a thin, anodized aluminium base, and the assembly may be protected by a further sheet of anodized aluminium.
