Abstract

109,734. Price, F. G. Feb. 13, 1917. Glazing.-Astragals for roofs are made of asbestos-cement or fibre-cement with or without reinforcement and are shaped in section as an inverted U with flanges. The capping when used is made of similar material. The flanges may form condensation grooves D<1>, Fig. L, and asbestos-rope or other packing C may be inserted as shown. The capping is secured by screws K and may have flanges In one modification, the capping flanges are upturned to cover the putty on which the edge of the glass is bedded, and in another modification, the capping flanges are omitted and a lead apron or flashing is turned up between the capping and astragal. Fig. 2 shows a bar without capping and strengthened by sheet metal D, the glass being secured by putty B Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 111,172.
