Abstract

109,676. Salmond, J. W. Oct. 7, 191h. Sack-holders.-Consists of a two-part hopper, one part of which slides upon the other so that the hopper can be expanded to secure the sack and contracted to release it. The part D of the hopper is fixed beneath a platform A. on a suitable stand, to which a U-shaped rail or bar F is secured. The part E of the hopper is formed with outwardly turned flanges at its upper edge which slide upon similar flanges on the part D, and it is moved backwards and forwards by a screw H operated by a crank-handle J and engaging a nut G fixed to the rail F. The parts D and E may be fitted with projecting ribs O to prevent the sack from slipping.
