Abstract

109,670. Pickard, W. Sept. 30, 1916. Reversible and pivoted handles; fixing by self-grip sockets of special form. - Screwdrivers of the kind having ends of cruciform section for screw heads having two or more intersecting slots, are provided with blades having one end formed as described above and the other end of ordinary flat or chisel form, both ends being tapered so that either end may be fixed in a cruciform slot in the handle. The blade a, Fig. 1, may be of round, square, or other section. and the ends a<1>, a<2> are tapered so that either end may be fixed in the cruciform taper slot or socket d in the handle b. The ferrule e of the handle may be thick and cross slotted, or grooved on the inner surface. In the form shown in Fig. 8, the blade g is slotted at g' to engage a cross-pin h in the slotted handle b, the inner end of the blade being secured in a cruciform socket i at the bottom of the slot f.
