[Also in Division F2] A sealing member for the spigot and socket joint between adjacent lengths 6, 7 of guttering or pipe, is formed of flexible material such as rubber and is in the form, respectively, of a strip, which is preferably preformed to a curved shape, or an annulus, having two sets of vanes 4, 5, upstanding from one face, each set consisting of at least two vanes, the vanes being such that, in the uncompressed state, the vanes 4 of one set have both sides oppositely inclined to both sides of the vanes 5 of the other set in a direction transverse to the length of the strip or the circumference of the annulus. The member may be formed by extrusion. The member may be cemented in the socket at one end of a length of gutter, said gutter having a spigot at the other end. Two sets of vanes may be provided on both faces of the member.
