Abstract

1,066,701. Interlocking blocks. BRITISH MOULED FIBRE Ltd. Dec. 29, 1965 [Jan. 1, 1965], No. 20/65. Heading E1B. Interlocking blocks 28 are each formed with at least one male or female undercut projection or groove respectively along at least one edge of the block, which projection or groove may or may not run the length or width of the block, and which is formed by the adjacent edges of sheets 10 and 12 of fibrous (reinforced if desired), plastics, steel, aluminium, or asbestos material, which sheets are bonded together by a resilient core 16 of foam plastics material or latex. As shown, the female grooves are formed by pre-fabricating the sheets 10 and 12 with male projections at each end, and cutting those at one end off, and inverting them and bonding them together by means of the core to form grooves which can be expanded by pushing a male member thereinto. Core material extending through the joints between the inverted sections and the main body of the sheets 10 and 12, forms sealing leads between the blocks. The projections and grooves may be at other angles to the body of the block, and the end sections may be formed separately from, and joined to, the body of the block.
