Abstract

1,096,564. Thermal switches. LEHIGH VALLEY INDUSTRIES Inc. Aug. 11, 1965, No. 34381/65. Heading H2B. [Also in Division G4] A two-vane voltage-compensated thermomotive " flasher " has a main stressed snapacting vane 10, with a pull ribbon 20, actuating the load contacts 21, 22, cyclically at normal voltages and an auxiliary stressed snap-acting vane 40 with a pull ribbon 41, heated by a resistance 45, which closes normally-open contacts 23, 24, above a certain voltage to put a bleeder resistor 35 in shunt with pull-ribbon 20, thus reducing current flow therethrough so that ribbon 20 will heat less rapidly (see also Fig. 5, not shown, for circuit diagram). The vanes 10, 40, with thermally expansible pullribbons 20, 41, are constructed as in Specification 761,713.
