An endless chain conveyer has short scraperblades 27 and between these bars 29, Fig. 3 (not shown), which extend between the chains. The portion 30a of the scrapers is shorter than the portion 30b, Fig. 5 (not shown), illustrates a chain conveyer 15 attached to a known lifting conveyer 37 which is supported by a trolley 45: carrying a conveyer drive-motor 46. Fig..8 (not shown) illustrates driving arrangements for the conveyers comprising a chain 56, bevelgears 58a; 58b, and shafts 59a, 59b. Shaft 59a. drives the conveyer 37 through a bevel-gear 58c; and shaft 59b drives conveyer 15 through a Cardan shaft 65 and a gear 66. The conveyer: 15 may be arranged at right angles to the conveyer 37. Fig. 11 (not shown) illustrates a link 76 for interconnecting two conveyers 15, 37.. When it is desired to transport the conveyers the links 76 are raised clockwise about pivots on the conveyer 37 so that a hoisting blade 78 on conveyer 15 is engaged by the conveyer 37 which may be driven to pull the conveyer 15 on top of the conveyer 37.
