Abstract
1,096,152. Multi-twist apparatus. PALITEX PROJECTCO. G.m.b.H. Feb. 22, 1966 [April 17, 1965], No. 7758/66. Heading DID. A multiple twisting frame comprises a spindle bench 1 on which are mounted twist spindles with package holders 9, and separators 3 arranged between the holders, each holder carrying permanent magnets diametrically arranged in its wall to cooperate with a permanent magnet in the wall of each of the adjacent separators. The magnets in each holder or in its adjacent separators may be replaced by soft-iron pieces. Each magnet may be of composite form having adjacent north and south poles; the magnets may be disposed halfway up the separators or holders in pockets; the magnets in the separators may be enclosed when the separators are cast; while the magnets in the housings may be enclosed in aluminium &c. rings having soft iron pieces near the magnets. Balloon-limiters 13 may be secured to the separators by brackets 14 insertable into fittings in the separators. The bases 4 of the separators may form a cover for the driving- belt; for this purpose they may be interconnected by fixed or hinged members, the latter being adapted to operate a brake. When magnets which have only one pole are employed, each holder will assume a position, irrespective of the position in which it is inserted, in which it always faces the same way, whereby when multi-stage brakes, of which the adjustment is indicated by marks, are provided, the marks are always visible.
