Abstract

1,096,020. Measuring electrically. YISSUM RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CO. Dec. 24, 1964 [Dec. 31, 1963], No. 52410/64. Heading G1N. In an electric circuit containing a main transducer responsive to a physical parameter, a further transducer responsive to the same parameter is connected in the circuit in a different manner from the main transducer in order to provide an output which conforms to a predetermined function of the parameter. The parameter may be temperature, humidity, pressure, strain or magnetic field strength, and the corresponding transducer characteristic may be resistance, impedance, voltage, &c. In Fig. 1, the output of a D. C. or A. C. bridge network including a parameter (e.g. temperature) dependent impedance 16 is given a desired relationship (e.g. linearity) to the parameter by connecting a second impedance 12, dependent on the same parameter, in series with the bridge. In a constant-current modification Fig. 2 (not shown), the second impedance is shunted across the bridge, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) depict networks comprising respectively a voltage-generating transducer 31 and a current-generating transducer 41; in each case a further similar transducer is included in the network to modify the output of the network in the desired manner.
