Abstract
A cutting tool or grinding disc of e.g. iron or aluminium oxide is coated by a plasma torch with diamond grains, having a binding agent of e.g. synthetic plastics or metals (see Division C7). The diamond grains may be coated with Ni, Ag or Cu prior to spraying to protect them during spraying. The spraying is carried out in an argon, hydrogen or nitrogen atmosphere. ALSO: A cutting tool or grinding disc of e.g. iron or aluminium oxide is coated by a plasma torch with diamond grains, having a binding agent of e.g. Co, Ni, Mn, Cr, W, V, Fe, Cd, Zn, Al, Cu or Sn or synthetic plastics. Boron nickel aluminide, silicon or graphite may also be added. The diamond grains may be coated with Ni, Ag or Cu, prior to spraying, to protect them during spraying. The spraying is carried out in an argon, hydrogen or nitrogen atmosphere.
